CaseGuard Studio is on-premise software for redacting sensitive information from video, audio, images, email, and documents. It combines automated detection with editing and review tools, allowing records teams to prepare disclosure copies from different media in one application. Suitable users include public-records staff, law enforcement evidence teams, legal departments, and organizations handling recordings or documents that contain personal information.
Studio is the software subscription. CaseGuard also advertises an on-demand redaction service performed by its staff, which is a separate purchasing route. Distinguish those options when deciding whether your organization needs an internal review workstation or outsourced work.
The workflow overview describes detection of faces, license plates, screens, names, and other sensitive content. Document tools can search for identifiers in PDFs and other office files, while media tools cover visual and spoken information. Bulk processing and scheduling are useful for a queue of related files rather than one isolated clip.
Transcription and translation are available within the product's media workflow, alongside caption and transcript outputs. They can help reviewers locate spoken terms before deciding what to obscure. Detection is an aid to locating material; the agency or business releasing the file still needs to decide which information should be withheld and inspect the resulting disclosure copy.
A records officer could assemble an incident's body-camera clip, interview audio, and supporting documents, then identify the faces, spoken names, and written identifiers that need review. Automated passes provide a starting point. The officer would inspect the affected frames and audio segments, adjust redactions that follow a moving subject, and check documents for sensitive text that was not part of the initial search.
Before release, review the exported files with the same care as the working project. A face hidden on one frame may reappear later, and a name can occur in both the interview and an attached document. Keep the original evidence and the release copy distinct in your organization's records process.
The official FAQ specifies Windows 10 or 11; Mac and Linux use requires a Windows virtual machine. Hardware affects processing time, particularly for video, so evaluate a representative recording on the workstation you intend to use.
Offline operation requires a machine-specific offline license key. The FAQ says that key cannot be transferred or changed during the license term and that transcription and translation are unavailable in offline mode. An air-gapped deployment therefore needs a different plan for those tasks. Confirm the behavior and data handling of each selected AI feature rather than assuming every feature operates under the same connectivity conditions.
The pricing page separates Doc Suite, Media Suite, Ultimate Suite, and custom Enterprise licensing. Published annual-billing equivalents are $279, $299, and $379 per user per month for the first three suites. The comparison table includes AI credit allowances for selected audio and document functions, so broad redaction messaging should not be taken as unlimited entitlement to every AI operation. The FAQ offers a seven-day trial whose projects include a watermark; multiple simultaneous users need multiple licenses.
