Trip Planner AI

New

Trip Planner AI generates complete itineraries with daily plans, price comparison through Skyscanner and Booking.com, and flexible editing that recalculates costs and times when you swap activities. Owned by Layla, which Expedia Group bought in July 2026.

Trip Planner AI is the structured sibling in the Layla family: where Layla leads with chat, this one leads with the itinerary. Answer a few questions and it lays out your days directly, must-sees, meals, downtime, with prices compared across Skyscanner, Booking.com and GetYourGuide so the plan connects to actual bookings. Swap an activity and it recalculates timing and cost around the change, which sounds small and saves a surprising amount of shuffling.

The site runs specialized planners for the trips people actually take: family holidays, couples getaways, road trips, multi-city hops. The corporate trail is worth knowing: Trip Planner AI was its own company before Layla acquired it, and Expedia Group acquired Layla in July 2026, so this now sits inside Expedia. Nothing on the site is priced and nothing we tried hit a paywall; the booking links to Skyscanner, Booking.com and GetYourGuide are presumably where the money comes from. Be aware the guides are less tended than the planner: the FAQ carries a September 2025 update stamp, the destination guides are still badged 2025, and the footer copyright reads 2023.

Choosing between the siblings

Honestly, taste. If you like talking a trip into existence, Layla's chat feels natural. If you'd rather see the whole plan on screen and drag it into shape, this interface gets you there faster. Power users of one will find the other familiar, since data and partnerships flow from the same company.

The limits

Booking happens on partner sites, not inside the tool, so the finish line is a handoff. Pricing transparency mirrors the category norm: free, with commissions in the background. And as with every generator here, treat opening hours and "hidden gem" claims as drafts to verify, not facts to trust.

Bottom line

A solid free default for people who want a full itinerary in minutes without learning a chat tool's rhythms. If you outgrow it, its own sister product and Mindtrip are the natural next steps.
