Live correction or an edited recording?
Casablanca is designed for an outgoing camera feed during a call. That timing is the first question when comparing alternatives. A post-production editor can improve a recorded lesson or social video, but it cannot change what another participant saw during the original meeting. Hardware support is the next practical filter.
Relevant eye-contact options
| Option | Where correction happens | Key consideration |
|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA Broadcast | Live virtual-camera feed | Supported Windows and NVIDIA RTX hardware |
| Descript | Recorded video project | Single-speaker footage and an editing workflow |
| Captions | Imported or newly recorded video | Creator recording and teleprompter workflow |
NVIDIA Broadcast for a live desktop feed
NVIDIA Broadcast includes Eye Contact together with background effects, auto framing and audio cleanup. Its setup involves choosing a device and effects, then selecting Broadcast as the device in your communication application. This is the closest timing match for a live Casablanca workflow. The official requirements specify supported NVIDIA RTX hardware and Windows, so it is unsuitable as a universal recommendation for Macs or computers without the required GPU. Check the current requirements before planning a rollout.
Descript for a lesson you can review
Descript's Eye Contact works on uploaded or recorded video inside an editing project. The effect can be toggled off, and its documentation recommends a single speaker with both eyes clearly visible. It is useful when you also need to edit the recording and preview corrections before export. It is not a live-call replacement. Check AI-credit and media allowances for the account you will use, particularly if you process many lessons.
Captions for scripted creator videos
The Captions eye-contact guide describes importing or recording a video, applying the effect in the editor and reviewing the result. Its camera and teleprompter workflow is relevant when a presenter is reading a script. The guide specifically calls for checking rapid movement, extreme head angles and lighting changes. Confirm current platform and plan access; importing a clip and fixing it afterwards is a different workflow from presenting through a virtual camera.
Make the decision with your actual format
For a client call, compare the supported live options on the intended computer. For a recorded course, compare correction alongside editing and export requirements. Use the same short speaking passage, include a natural glance away and inspect the eyes and head movement. Keep an unmodified version so you can choose where correction helps the communication and where the original delivery works better.
