Gemini Notebook is Google’s source-based research workspace, familiar to many users as NotebookLM. You add material to a notebook and ask questions within that collection. It is a useful starting point for understanding a course pack, a set of project documents or a research folder without losing track of the original sources.
Build one notebook around a clearly defined topic. Add the material you actually need, ask for the main disagreements between sources, and follow the citations. When saving a note, include the passage or source behind it. A smaller, well-chosen collection is often easier to evaluate than a large mixed folder.
Source-based answers can still omit context or misinterpret a passage. An audio overview is a generated explanation, not a recording of the source’s author. Use the original material for quotations and important decisions, and check source limits before uploading a large collection.
Google offers free access and upgraded capabilities through eligible plans. Notebook and feature limits vary by account and subscription.
